MOBILE WiMAX 8O2.16G-2OO5 2nd generation terminal chip-set

Description
Mobile WiMAX™, next-generation wireless technology will become reality in regions all over
the world, starting 2008. The initial service available in the market will be PCbased mobile
broadband access, fit the same time, the development of attractive terminals such as handsets,
smartphones, PDfls, portable games and navigation systems are strongly expected to aid the
rapid and successful growth of mobile WiMAX technology.

Fujitsu's WiMAX chip-set is optimised for small embedded modules targeting mobile WiMAX devices.
The chip-set includes a baseband device [MB86k22], an RF device [MB86K52]) and a power
management device CMB39C316]), which are the essential components required for competitive
WiMRX modules. With this chip-set, module vendors can offer competitive products with the necessary features for mobile WiMRX in a small form factor.

MOBILE WiMAX baseband SoC

Overview
The MB86K23 is a baseband SoC designed for mobile WiMAX applications and is compliant with
the IEEE 802.l6e-2005 Wave 2 Standard. The baseband SoC main blocks:
- MRC processor
- PHY processor
- Analogue circuit equipped with H/D converter and D/R converter
- Together with FML's RF and Power Management ic, the MB86K23 provides a total solution Mobile wiMAX Chip-set
